The High Calling for Fathers

Dr. Sutherland has written a very readable book that reminds us of the important role fathers have to play in raising children. In some regards he is stating the obvious, as we all know inherently that raising children is a person's most important legacy. On the other hand, American society makes it seem that fathers are an optional piece in the raising of the next generation. This book offers a healthy corrective to our society's error.
While young fathers may be most suited to read this book, the book holds value to the 90% of us that still deal with 'father issues' dating back to our childhood. I highly recommend the reading of this book!

The online version of book allows you to answer questions and get instant feedback without having to waste time flipping through pages to find the right answer. This saves lots of time and allows more progress in each study session. Also, the questions themselves seem right on target with PRITE questions so that this book should be quite helpful with the boards themselves.

Excellent for board prep!

This book, in my opinion, is a must have for psychiatry board preparation! The questions are very board-like and it also comes with a CD to practice the new vignette style questions. I passed my boards with no issues the first try and now 'm passing this on to a colleague who will be taking boards next year before the change to DSM 5.

At last! A Dalmatian book that doesn't discourage you away from the breed! This book is up-front about the medical concerns that Dalmatians may encounter- such as their tendency to form urinary stones, but the author also gives advice on how to avoid that problem.

If you already own a Dalmatian or are already familiar with the breed, this book would probably just seem monatonous. However, if your're new to the breed and are looking for a good introductory book- you've found it!

For most companies and individuals engaged with business development, marketing, sales development, sales, account management and other revenue generation activities this book could well be their bible when it comes to ensuring predictable lead generation.

Actionable advice for serious revenue growth leaders

This is how the predictable funnel is actually built in the most sophisticated technology companies in the world right now. Incredibly cogent, well organized and cutting edge, it even references the right software for "cadences." Marylou has synthesized all the best practices into one concise, actionable manual. I'm not surprised to see the massive success her clients are having in testimonials they've left on her LinkedIn profile. The trouble with most systems is they're not scalable or too conceptual. Marylou transcends that by giving sales leaders the fishing rod and helping them think through their specific KPIs, challenges and then takes it to the next level with optimization / troubleshooting. A+

Make your prospecting more predictable!

Just finished this excellent read yesterday. Five stars from start to finish, top to bottom. Loved all of the relevant examples and samples provided to engage the B2B marketplace to allow for more predictable prospecting. Lots of great gems tucked within these pages. I really loved the common sense approach given on how to gain more opens to my emails. I immediately tried it, and since making a tiny tweak to my messaging I have noticed 15% more of my emails now being opened.
In addition, I tried the 'Contact Us' page approach to organic lead generation as mentioned and illustrated on page 98 (except I used 500 companies in my test) and gained alarmingly similar results. Super solid read, certainly recommend this book!

About the Author

Ian R. A. MacKay has been teaching general acoustics and the acoustics of speech to future speech-language pathologists and audiologists, as well as to students of Linguistics and Psychology, for several decades. Over this same time period, he has been teaching phonetics and speech production (speech science in its various manifestations). His research interests include the phonological acquisition of a second language (the learning of the sound system of a second language). He has recently become interested in issues in the biological evolution of the human capacity for speech and language. MacKay is the author of two editions of a general phonetics textbook, the first edition entitled Introducing Practical Phonetics, and the second, much revised edition entitled Phonetics: the Science of Speech Production. MacKay has degrees in Linguistics and Speech Science. He lives with his wife Jo-Anne and an aging standard poodle.
