You won't find this invaluable resource in the United States - only here - and it is a great resource

You can't find this in the United States, only in the UK. This is the place to get it. Arrived from overseas with the British price tag attached. I was from a second-hand store over there, but arrived in near pristine condition. The only issue I had was a loose binding which detached in about a month. Easily fixed with a "S" pattern of super glue and pressure of the binding against it. After a day it was secured. I evenly placed some clear packing tape along the binding/book edge inside cover front and back for added security. Good as new. Content is invaluable, tips, inexpensive remedies for stains, a "How-To" for cleaning without the use of branded cleaners using household items. Also includes social tips for party planning from setting a "formal" place setting to a discrete way to urge those last few stragglers it's time for them to go home. Some terminology used will be unfamiliar to United States readers."Soap Flakes", "Washing-up Liquid" (dish detergent). Easy internet search for equivalent in the United States, and yes, you can buy some of those products they mentioned on here. Quite a bit of humor mixed in. Written about 10 years ago, but still, and always will be relevant. Mine shipped from a secondhand book store in the UK and took about three weeks to arrive, that during Christmas season, so order well in advance if planning to use as a gift. International shipping does take more time.

Addicted to the show....

I love the show! And they need to rerelease the DVDs!
Anyway, the book is very useful and full of funny stories by Kim and Aggie. The book doesn't really have all of the cleaning recipes from the show, but still worth a read! The book covers things like hosting, organization, what your laundry labels mean, what a child can do to help (depending on age), safety, home management, etc.

My suggestion would be is to read the book cover to cover; with a high-lighter at the ready, for easy reference at a later time. When I watch the show and see a cleaning recipe, that is not in the book, I write it in.

I love their tv show--and this book! It was amazing to learn how much dirt and bacteria can lurk in an uncleaned house!

The "Cleaning Bible" is full of how-tos for easy cleaning, and recipes for making your own inexpensive, organic, & non-toxic cleaning supplies. I've actually tried lots of their ideas and they've all worked well. The only drawback to the book is the rather inefficient indexing. You have to take the time to familiarize yourself with what's in the book if you hope to be able to find information when you REALLY need it.

This book will become my new standard wedding or housewarming gift for new house-keepers! The Cleaning Bible: Kim and Aggie's Complete Guide to Modern Household Management

About the Author
Pete Miller was born in Sydney Australia and attended The Kings School, Parramatta. After graduation from The Drama Studio Sydney, Pete acted in musicals and on TV soapies moving into the role of a humorous Master of Ceremonies at corporate conferences and eventually weddings. Pete published his first audio product 5 EASY STEPS TO A FANTASTIC VOICE in 1996 and followed up with the best-selling manual YOU CAN BE A WEDDING MC and the guide to business MC work UP FRONT IN CONTROL in 2000. Since then, there has been a steady stream of audio, video and written material on public speaking, the role of the emcee, and selling from the stage. His obsession is to ensure that every live event - be it a 3 day industry conference, educational business seminar, the opening of a new premises, special event awards night or prestigious wedding reception - be both organised and entertaining. Pete Miller has won the 'MC of the Year' award three times; firstly in 1998, then again in 2010 and 2011 (ABIA). Nearly every time Pete is the Master of Ceremonies at a wedding, he is recognised from his appearance as the lead presenter on Foxtels 'Wedding TV' show. After getting double-booked on the same day, Pete started running workshops to train speakers and presenters to fill-in when he was already unavailable. About the Author

Vikki F. Howard began her career working with families with infants and toddlers in Eastern Ohio.  Later she served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Jamaica, serving families with very young children and school aged children with disabilities.  As a professor at Gonzaga University, Dr. Howard collaborated with Dr. Williams to develop an ECSE program.  She is author of many articles, chapters and funded grants associated with infants, toddlers and preschoolers with disabilities and their families.  Currently, she teaches at the University of Montana Western where she directs the special education program and collaborates with tribal colleges in Montana to deliver special education pre-service education.

 

Betty Fry Williams has over 30 years teaching in schools with very young children with disabilities and in higher education.  She is professor of education at Whitworth University in Spokane Washington, where she chairs the Special Education program and teaches courses in early childhood special education.  Her body of professional work reflect her interests in behavior analysis, methods of teaching infants, toddlers and preschoolers with disabilities and autism.

 

Denielle Miller retired from public school teaching after 25 years of serving children with special needs.  She taught students ages 3-21. Denielle received her BS and MA from Montana State University-Billings. She is currently working for Side-by-Side K-12 Consulting and for the Office of Public Instruction as a consultant for the Montana Behavior Initiative (MBI) and Response to Intervention (RTI). In addition, she provides professional development to Headstart teachers on several of Montana’s Native American reservations. Denielle trains and assists schools in setting up school-wide positive behavior interventions and supports and creating literacy rich environments. She is an adjunct professor in the special education department at the U of M Western.

 

Estee Aiken has worked in early childhood education for more than a decade across numerous states. She has spent the last five years educating pre-service teachers, predominantly in preparation for careers in the field of early childhood. In addition to her interest in the education of very young children, she also works with and conducts research with gifted children. Estee currently teaches in the Education Department at the University of Montana Western.

Can't Judge a Book by it's Cover

I must say I've been seeing the Rogue Hypnotist eBooks advertised on my kindle for a while. I confess I didn't like the cover artwork and I didn't like the title Rogue Hypnotist. Was I wrong. The Deprogramming Addiction caught my eye so I got it on kindle Unlimited for free. I listened to it on my kindle text to speech. Absolutely fantastic scripts and techniques to help with addiction. I highly recommend it to all hypnotists. What an education!

This might be the best book in the series

This book is set apart from the other ones in that it covers compulsions and addictions to a greater degree. This seems to be more advanced hypnotic work and i have not tried any of it yet, but the writing is solid and some of the advice is so down-to-earth that it sounds practical and workable. This might be the best book in the series, which is already very good if a little scattershot. Highly recommended.

Again a great insightful book. I would highly recommend this book and the entire series. I would suggest that one read the others in the order published. The more you know the more you will ingest and be able to use.

About the Author
Doug Richardson, attended USC's School of Cinema. After finishing college, Doug signed a two-year contract with Warner Brothers. In 1989 he garnered national attention when his spec screenplay was the first in Hollywood to sell for a million dollars. Doug's first feature film, the sequel to Die Hard, Die Harder, was produced in 1990. He has since written and produced feature films including the box office smash Bad Boys and Hostage.To date, Doug's features have grossed over 800 million dollars worldwide. So, you want to be a screenwriter...

So, you want to be a screenwriter. Or at least you think you do. Well, while you're reading all those books offering oceans of advice to aspiring screenwriters on how to become the next William Goldman or Aaron Sorkin, pick up a copy of Doug Richardson's all true revealing book on what life in the film business for screenwriters is really all about. The successful novelist and screenwriter takes his readers on a serious, yet oftentimes comical, and even shocking, tour of life in the trenches of one of the hardest businesses around.

If you want a true guide that deals with the facts of life of what it really takes to survive and be a success in today’s Hollywood as a screenwriter, then grab a copy of "The smoking Gun: True Tales From Hollywood's Screenwriting Trenches" and keep it close by. In my opinion, this book should be considered a must read for every aspiring screenwriter.

Best industry book since William Goldman's "Adventures in the Screen Trade."

"The Smoking Gun - True Tales From Hollywood's Screenwriting Trenches," for me, was the best industry book since William Goldman's "Adventures in the Screen Trade." Doug Richardson pulls no punches here in both entertaining AND educating people on the backstreets and boardrooms of the entertainment industry.

What I really enjoyed was how relatable the material was - at least - for me. I began my career as a writer and now I direct and produce on a regular basis, although I still write. And, unfortunately, I recognized some of the more bizarre and humorous situations Doug has gone through.

It's hard to pick favorite parts, because I have loved every moment that I've read! And, because I prefer not to spoil it for anyone. His stories hook you in from the moment you read each new chapter. I will say there is an interesting story about Clint Eastwood that will make your day. ;)

Great Stuff!

Unfortunately, there was even a story about a shady producer early on in the book that seems to have reminded me of several people I have met along my way in the business!

In conclusion, if you're interested in any of the following subject matter - screenwriting, filmmaking, entertainment, movies, humor and the entertainment business as a whole - then I suggest you read this book. If you're looking to break into the business, you will truly appreciate it. If you're already in the business, you'll appreciate it even more.

Again, the best industry book since William Goldman's "Adventures in the Screen Trade," and that's saying something. ;)

About the Author
William Holmes McGuffey (1800-1873) was a "born" educator. Beginning by teaching his younger brothers and sisters, William McGuffey accepted his first teaching position at 13 in a one-room school with 48 students. After graduating from Washington College and being ordained as a Presbyterian minister, he taught moral philosophy at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio for almost ten years. It was during this period that McGuffey wrote and compiled the Readers that made him famous. Later McGuffey rose to the rank of university president, serving Cincinnati College and Ohio University. He spent the final third of his life teaching moral philosophy at the University of Virginia.

Fascinating to view the contents of text books used in the 1800's. There are a lot of farm animals used as illustrations. I placed it in the school house in our local pioneer museum for others to also enjoy.

I LOVE the original McGuffey's Primer

I LOVE the original McGuffey's Primer. This book, however, should not be allowed to use the name McGuffey's. It may use some of the same vocabulary but that is where the similarities end. It lacks the quality that made McGuffey's so fabulous. The words are introduced with corresponding pictures (translation: sight words) and not grouped according to their phonetic spellings. The whole appeal of 19th century readers is that they use tried and true, genuine synthesis phonics (building a word from its sounds rather than analyzing the sounds after learning the word by sight). Regardless of what anyone says, English is an alphabetic language and it only makes sense to teach children to read the language using phonics. This book does NOT do that. Also, the high-quality illustrations lauded by this edition's publishers look to me like blurry clip art. None of this review is intended maliciously. It is a very inexpensive book, came with free shipping, and arrived very quickly. I just think the description of this item is very deceptive as it is not similar to actual McGuffey's readers in any way that counts.

I have been using this book for training groups since the first edition. There is some good new content, the formatting is improved and Pascal even added some nice questions to ponder at the end of the chapter. Would definitely recommend it. Easy to read, contains the what's and the why's.
